Mentorship

There is a major gender disparity in journalism leadership and we want to fix it.

Women and female-identified people need access to trusted resources who understand their perspective and can help them level up as leaders.

Whether you are a student looking for career advice or a new manager looking for leadership tips or a boss seeking strategies to balance work and personal life. We are here to help.

Digital Women Leaders

As a graduate of Poynter’s Leadership Academy for Women in Media, I was invited to join Digital Women Leaders, a free mentoring website for women and female-identified people working in news who are looking for advice across a wide range of topics. Mentors offer 30 minutes of their time each week to share their experience and advice.

Northwestern ALL Program: I’m a volunteer mentor for the the Affinity Leaders and Learners (ALL) Mentorship Program. ALL is the newest addition to the Northwestern Network. The ALL Program is an identity-based mentorship program that connects undergraduate students to alumni leaders. The ALL Program strives to create a more tailored experience for students seeking identity-based mentorship.

Northwestern NEXT: I’m a volunteer alumni host for the Northwestern Externship Program (NEXT). NEXT is a shadowing program offering current Northwestern students the opportunity to accompany alumni on the job to learn more about a variety of professional fields.

Students will spend time learning from their alumni hosts to gain insight into the practical aspects of potential careers.
